Broken Before The Throne | Martinsburg, WV

Prayer Conference Format

Length:   most conferences are 1-3 days and are very leisure in their approach to worship and limited in their time to pray, if at all;  therefore, it should be established a conference to be lengthier than present ones and last 7-10 days;  Acts 1:14, “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”

Sessions:   sessions are set up for three hours each;  a morning session 8 – 11 AM; an afternoon session 1-4 PM; and an evening session 6-9 PM;  the break down of the session is as follows:
½ hour of opening worship, opening prayer, a devotion or testimony and one special music selection; each part of this is to prepare the body for unity and worship of our Lord;
The remaining  2 ½ hours is turned over to the lead speaker. These leaders are those that God has used and blessed and speaks to, therefore, they should be trusted to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit for that particular group and time.  They should use their gift for that time whether that be preaching or teaching on prayer or whatever the Holy Ghost leads them to.  Now depending on how long they preach or teach or share they are to leave enough time for prayer.  This dynamic must be in place that we must spend time in prayer.  My desire is to see them use 45 minutes to an hour preaching or teaching and then use the remaining time to pray.

Speakers:  the leading of the Holy Spirit is necessary here.  It is impossible to have Andrew Murray, Praying John Hyde or some other great prayer warrior of long ago come.  There must be a seeking out of men and women that have prevailed in prayer and know what prayer is really all about.  They have a record of experience that God has met them and they have met God.
